**UNEMPLOYMENT SHUTDOWN**
BULLETIN
On your last day worked, you will receive a U.C. 101-T card from DaimlerChrysler. This form must be filled out properly, front and back, and mailed to the Department of Labor in the envelope that is supplied by DaimlerChrysler. Please mail the 101-T on the Sunday following your last day worked. Those members not at work on the last day of work, must pick up a 101-T from the personnel department and mail it out immediately!
When the Department of Labor receives your 101-T, they will process it and send you a pay order. This pay order should be filled out properly and mailed out on Saturday. When you receive the first check, a pay order for the following week should be with the check, if the layoff is for more than one week. Follow the directions for the pay order again.
Remember, the information is only sent out once a week from the Department of Labor and Corporate Payroll.
For those members who chose to use the “telebenefits”, the 101-T MUST be mailed to the Department of Labor! Then use the phone in system instead of the pay order. You may call in your claim the Sunday after your first week of being unemployed. You cannot use the telebenefits to open or reopen your claim. If you are more than a week behind in your claim, you must go into the unemployment office to get “caught up.” This system speeds up the time of processing your checks. It also may help ensure that your name is on the tape sent by the Department of Labor to corporate Payroll for processing SUB checks before the Wednesday deadline. If your unemployment check is not “cut” by Wednesday morning, your name will not be sent to corporate payroll for processing the sub checks until the following Wednesday! I have requested and the corporation and the Delaware Department of Labor are already working out a plan to have the information sent electronically.
If you do not receive your SUB payments, call the personnel office 302-453-5348 or your benefits representatives Stacy 302-453-5351 or Sharon 302-453-5301 and they may be able to tell you why the checks have not been processed. One or both of the benefits reps. should be working during the downtime.
Also, do not claim the Profit sharing amount on the pay order for week ending 03/04/06 it is not “earnings”
The envelope you receive should have the following address:
Department of Labor
Newark Local Office
P.O. Box 9955
Wilmington, Delaware 19809
If you have any questions regarding Unemployment, call me at the Union Hall. The Union Hall will be open during the layoff periods.
